Playing a single sport is pretty obvious for any sportsperson. However, some sportswomen aspire to shine in more than one sport and hence played two or more sports at a time.
Well, participating in multiple sports can be a tedious task and therefore one is left with the choice of selecting between the two.
Some of the sportswomen started their careers in one sport and gradually shifted to the another after a period of time due to some reason. However, others continued playing multiple sports quite efficiently.
Here are the five women cricketers who have played sports other than cricket:
5.) Alyssa Healy (Cricket and Hockey)
Alyssa Healy is the right-handed wicketkeeper batswoman of team Australia. She has a strong cricketing background with Ian Healy, the former Australian wicket-keeper, being her uncle. She tied the knot with Australian speedster Mitchell Starc in April 2016,
With more than 45 ODI’s and 72 T20I’s, she is one of the most experienced heads in the Aussie batting line-up. However, apart from cricket, she also has played the game of hockey. In hockey, she represented the New South Wales U-21 team in 2010 and 2011.
4.) Deandra Dottin (Cricket, Track and field)
West Indies middle order batswomen Deandra Dottin has played a couple of sports in her illustrious career. Initially, she participated in the track and field event in athletics and then shifted to cricket. She is the current record-holder for the fastest century in T20 Internationals when she achieved the feat in 2010 against South Africa off just 38 balls.
In athletics, she represented Barbados in the U-17 and U-20 levels where she won seven gold medals and two silver medals. She also bagged the medals in shot put, javelin throw and discuss throw while representing Barbados in the CARIFTA Games and Central American & Caribbean Junior Championship.
